Casper Splits With Smoky Hill

The Casper Oilers split a doubleheader with Smoky Hill High School from Aurora, CO on Monday at Lansing Field. In game one it was Oilers who would come out on top by a 6-4 score. In game two it was all Buffaloes 12-2 in 5 innings.
The Oilers (14-24) will head to Helena, MT on Wednesday, July 1st for the Keith Sell Invitational.
Oilers Finish Fourth at Hladky

The Casper Oilers dropped their last two games in the Hladky Tournament over the past weekend. The Oilers battled Saturday night against a tough Greeley GOJO team, but ended up on the short end of the contest 6 to 1. Casper then faced Sioux Falls again for 3rd/4th place. The Oilers dropped that game to the Cyclones 12 to 3 to finish 2-3 on the weekend.
The Oilers (13-23) will host Smoky Hill High School from Aurora, CO Monday night at Lansing Field. Game times are set for 5 & 7:30pm.
Drillers at Laramie – Time Change

Youth Camp

The Casper Legion Baseball Club will be hosting the 3rd Annual Youth Camp for ages 7 to 15 on Tuesday, June 30th at Crossroads Field #4. The camp will be held in two sessions from 10:00am to 12:00pm & 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Campers will be exposed to several aspects of the game. The cost for the camp is $35.00 per child. All who attend will be invited to attend the July 7th Oiler double header against the Sheridan Troopers.
Oilers Finish 2-1 in Pool Play

The Casper Oilers wrapped up pool play today in the Ernie Hladky Tournament in Gillette, WY with a 10-7 win over Fossil Ridge, CO. The Oilers squandered a three run lead in the top of the sixth allowing four runs, but would answer with four more of their own in the bottom of the sixth to win it. The game was called due to the time limit. Eli Ford drew the bases loaded walk to tie the game at seven a piece and Sean Robison hit a walk off 3 run triple to end the game.
The Oilers (13-21) will have to wait until pool play is completed early Saturday to determine what time and the oppenent for bracket play.
Oilers Split to Start Hladky Tournament

The Oilers took game one from the Sheridan Troopers, 10 to 1, in 5 innings to start off day one at the Ernie Hladky Tournament in Gillette, WY on Thursday. The Oilers were lead offensively by Aren Williams who was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 6 RBIs. Martin Vasquez (3-3) was the winning pitcher.
Game two saw the Oiler defense fall apart as they collected 10 errors in the game and took the loss to the Sioux Falls Cyclones 11 to 3. Aren Williams had a 2 RBI double for the Oiler offense and Brandon Watson took the loss on the hill.
The Oilers will face Fossil Ridge High School from Ft Collins, CO at 2:30 to finish up pool play on Friday.
Dinner On The Diamond

The Casper Legion Baseball Club would like to thank everyone for their support over the last three days during the 7th Annual Dinner on the Diamond as well as the Mike Devereaux Wood Bat Weekend. We truly appreciate your help with all the tasks that it takes to run a successful fundraiser and tournament.
We would also like to send out a special THANK YOU to Mike Devereaux for taking time out of his schedule to spend it with us here in Casper!
Oilers Drop Four Straight

The Casper Oilers dropped all four of their games in the Mike Devereaux Wood Bat Weekend. The Oilers were one hit twice on Saturday by the Torrington Tigers and Playball Sports. The fell to the Tigers 1-0 and Playball 4-0. Sunday would prove no better as the Oilers squandered leads in both of the contests falling to Miles City 7-4 and Torrington again 8-6.
Casper (11-20) will head to the Hladky Memorial Tournament in Gillette, WY on Thursday.
Note: The Oiler doubleheader scheduled in Laramie for Tuesday, June 23rd has been postponed and the two teams are trying to work out another date.
Oilers Take Three of Four From Expos

The Casper Oilers finished up a four game home stand against the Rapid City Post 22 Expos Wednesday night. The Oilers were able to come away with three wins in the two nights by the scores of 11-9, 5-1, and 6-3. They also snapped their eight game losing streak on Tuesday night after losing game one of the series 9 to 4. The Oilers received some strong pitching on Wednesday night from Brandon Watson (5-1) and Martin Vasquez (2-2).
The Oilers (11-16) will take part in Friday nights exhibition game (6pm) against the Casper Ghosts and they will host the Mike Deveraux Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
Oiler Drop Two, Streak Now at Six

The Casper Oilers lost two more at the Colorado Classic falling 15 to 13 to PlayBall 17′s and 7 to 4 to PlayBall Sports on Saturday. The Oilers battled all day, but came up short in both contests. The Oilers (8-14) will look to end their six game losing streak against the Colorado Bobcats in bracket play for Sunday.
