Casper Splits With Smoky Hill

The Casper Oilers split a doubleheader with Smoky Hill High School from Aurora, CO on Monday at Lansing Field.  In game one it was Oilers who would come out on top by a 6-4 score.  In game two it was all Buffaloes 12-2 in 5 innings.

The Oilers (14-24) will head to Helena, MT on Wednesday, July 1st for the Keith Sell Invitational.

The Casper Oilers dropped their last two games in the Hladky Tournament over the past weekend.  The Oilers battled Saturday night against a tough Greeley GOJO team, but ended up on the short end of the contest 6 to 1.  Casper then faced Sioux Falls again for 3rd/4th place.  The Oilers dropped that game to the Cyclones 12 to 3 to finish 2-3 on the weekend.

The Oilers (13-23) will host Smoky Hill High School from Aurora, CO Monday night at Lansing Field. Game times are set for 5 & 7:30pm.

The Casper Drillers will head to Laramie, WY on July 1st.  The game times have been changed to 3 & 5:30pm.

Youth Camp

The Casper Legion Baseball Club will be hosting the 3rd Annual Youth Camp for ages 7 to 15 on Tuesday, June 30th at Crossroads Field #4.   The camp will be held in two sessions from 10:00am to 12:00pm & 1:00pm to 3:00pm.  Campers will be exposed to several aspects of the game.  The cost for the camp is $35.00 per child.  All who attend will be invited to attend the July 7th Oiler double header against the Sheridan Troopers.

The Casper Oilers wrapped up pool play today in  the Ernie Hladky Tournament in Gillette, WY with a 10-7 win over Fossil Ridge, CO. The Oilers squandered a three run lead in the top of the sixth allowing four runs, but would answer with four more of their own in the bottom of the sixth to win it.  The game was called due to the time limit.  Eli Ford drew the bases loaded walk to tie the game at seven a piece and Sean Robison hit a walk off 3 run triple to end the game.

The Oilers (13-21) will have to wait until pool play is completed early Saturday to determine what time and the oppenent for bracket play.
