Cheyenne JV Snowball Cancelled

The Casper Driller games in Cheyenne have been cancelled due to weather.

Oilers Host Snowball Series

The Casper Oilers will host the Snowball Series this Saturday and Sunday at Lansing Field.  The Oilers will play a conference game with the Gillette Roughriders at 11am.  Saturday’s schedule will follow up with Gillette and the Sheridan Troopers at 1:30pm, and Cheyenne Post 6 and Sheridan at 4:oopm.

The Oilers will start off Sunday against Cheyenne Post 6 at 10am, which will be followed by the Cheyenne and Gillette matchup at 12:30pm. The weekend comes to a close with the Oilers and Troopers at 3pm.

This will be a great weekend of baseball, so come out and support the Oilers.

Drillers Head to Cheyenne

The Casper Drillers will head to Cheyenne, WY on Saturday to play the second weekend of the JV Snowball Series.  Casper will take on the Gillette Rustlers at 2:30pm and the Cheyenne Hawks at 5:00pm at Powers Field.

Drillers Split JV Snowball

The Casper Drillers split the JV Snowball in Casper on Saturday.  The Cheyenne Hawks took game one from the Drillers, 12 to 7, and game two, from the Gillette Rustlers, 15 to 5.  Casper lead Gillette in the nightcap, 7 to 3, before the game was called due to darkness in the sixth.

All three teams will meet again on Saturday April, 24th in Cheyenne, WY.

The Casper Oilers split the first two games of the 2010 season on Saturday. In game one, Lane Fischer went the distance on the mound to pick up the win and the Oilers were able to claim the first conference game of the season from the Gillette Roughriders, 6 to 4.  Fischer, along with, Alex Hill, and Chris Haley each had two hits a piece to lead the way offensively.

In game 2, the Oilers found themselves on the flip side of things as they took a hard loss to Cheyenne Post 6, 15 to 4.  Clint Ide and Eli Ford had two hits a piece for the Oilers.  The Oilers committed six errors in the game.  Casper will take on Cheyenne Post 6, again, at 10am in Gillette on Sunday.

Cheyenne Post 6 took the nightcap from Gillette, 7 to 2.  Gillette will face the Torrington Tigers at 12:30pm on Sunday.
