Bobby Schoonover

Bobby Schoonover enters his first year as Oilers Head Coach in 2009.  Bobby is a 1999 graduate of Natrona County High School. He was fortunate enough to play in the Casper Legion Baseball Program from 1997-1999 under notable former coaches Ken Stoick, Randy McIntyre, Bud Sorenson, and Alex Neely.  Schoonover then attended the University of Sioux Falls (1999-2000); there he was part of the 2000 USF Cougar’s NAIA South Dakota-Iowa Athletic Conference Championship Baseball Team.

Coach Schoonover returned to Casper in 2000 and started his coaching career with the Casper Legion Baseball Program. He has coached twice before with Legion Baseball, Interim Drillers Coach 2000 and Head Coach of the Casper Barons Inaugural year in 2002. Schoonover has also coached several competitive traveling teams in the Casper are over the past six years.

Coach Schoonover brings a well-disciplined, hard-nosed work ethic to Casper Baseball.  What his teams may lack in talent, they will make up in fundamentals, hustle, knowledge, and respect for the game.

In the off season Bobby is attending the University of Wyoming/Casper College program in pursuit of an Elementary Education Degree.  Bobby plans to cap off what is hopefully a very successful season by marrying his fiancee, Jodi, in August.
