Corbett Named Head Pitching Coach

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Cameron Corbett who will be entering his first year as the Head Pitching Coach for the Casper Legion Baseball Program. Cameron played five years in the program from 2002-2006.  He was also a 2006 Wyoming All-State selection.

After graduating from Natrona County High School in 2005, he attended Colorado Christian University in Denver, CO. He was part of the starting pitching rotation for four years at CCU and was three-time selection to the RMAC All-Academic Team. In his career as a CCU Cougar, he currently holds the most career starts, second most wins, second most innings pitched, and the third most appearance in the history of the program.  In May of 2009, Cameron graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from CCU.

“I’m excited to bring back yet another player that I had the privilege to coach in 2002. Being able to watch these young men grow from such a young age, continue on to college, have success, and bring that back to our players will begin to pay dividends immediately. Cameron’s knowledge of the game, work ethic, and character will be great addition to our program.”

Outside of baseball, Cameron works for Continental Industries, he is an avid golfer, and currently engaged to be married in August.

Casper Legion Baseball would like to announce that Jonathan Claude with Windy City Physical Therapy will be working with our program this year as our Strength & Conditioning Coach.   Coach Claude played several years of baseball in Canada and at NCAA Division II Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he competed from 2001 to 2004. He also completed his Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 2004 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2007. He also holds certifications for Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Coach Claude will be putting each player through the Functional Movement System screening this week (January 24th and January 26th).  The FMS is used widely by MLB, NFL, and Military Special Forces. (Deep Squat, Hurdle Step, In-Line Lunge, Shoulder Mobility, Active Straight Leg Raise, Trunk Stability Push Up, Rotational Stability).

We would like to welcome Coach Claude to the program and we look forward to working with him this season.
